What are other treatment of a tension headache
There are several treatments for tension headaches. Examples of other treatments are physiotherapy or exercise therapy, cannabis, treatment by a psychologist.
Physiotherapy and exercise therapy
Often there is a cramping of the neck and shoulder muscles. Relaxing these muscles is often difficult, causing the headache to persist for a long time. By massaging and stretching these muscles, the physiotherapist can improve blood flow and relaxation.
In exercise therapy, such as mensendieck or caesartherapy, we mainly work on correcting and improving the posture and learning to relax the muscles. Following a therapy or training only works if the exercises learned are repeated daily.
